Covertex is an upholstery fabric wholesaler now based in West Essex, founded by the Brown family.
We started as a business back in 1977, using our knowledge and experience in upholstery to build a name for ourselves. Covertex quickly became one of the leading wholesalers to the industry, supplying an extensive range of over 2,000 upholstery fabrics both in the UK and across Europe.
We’re still running the business, alongside our daughter Cristina, who joined the business in 1999.
Who is Cristina Marrone
Cristina began with Covertex by working with us during the school holidays, and her flair for art and design eventually took her to the London College of Printing and Distributive Trades. Her studies culminated in gaining her Textile Design degree at Central Saint Martins, one of the world’s leading design colleges.
Turning her passion for textiles and her academic achievements into a career soon followed, joining the family business so she could make her mark on the industry.
